Graffiti 2 Community Ministries began in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx in August 2005. Initially meeting the needs of children, Graffiti 2 has since expanded its efforts to the whole family—children, teens, young adults, and adults. G2Kids and Graffiti Serving and Leading Teenagers (G.S.A.L.T.) serve students and their parents through school year and summer programs for 1st-12th grade. Graffiti 2 Works is a workforce development program and microenterprise focused on job creation and job training for adults.
As a result of this ministry-first approach, something Graffiti calls “Upside Down,” Graffiti 2 Baptist Church was planted in September 2008. The ministry and the church not only works hand-in-hand making and growing disciples in the Mott Haven neighborhood, but also teaches Upside Down Principles for working in communities of needs to others across the country.
